Can you really, honestly admit that you taste all of your food? Bite by bite... Do you savor the unique flavors, colors and textures? I admit I taste a few bites out of a full portion, especially the first few and the last few bites of an entire meal. But- usually, I am eating unconsciously because I am either talking, listening to someone else, thinking about something in the past or future, or watching TV while I eat. What a waste of calories and an opportunity for delight!
Food is good! We need it, we use it to live, the flavors can be orgasmic, the variety can be unlimiting and our freedom to choose what we ingest is liberating in itself. But, do we take it for granted? I must answer YES... what about You?
Okay, so we admit it, now what? One technique I am working on is taking bites of food without trying to carry on a conversation. I am trying to eat and savor the flavor, to feel the texture and Taste the food I put in my mouth. Also, make sure to chew it and notice the sensation. I am hoping this will work... more on this later.
I have recently discovered I am 'sensitive" to Gluten. I'm not quite sure its an allergy... but anyone else have a gluten allergy???? How did you find out?
